Garage Sale Finds

I've realized that I am always talking about going to garage sales and finding goodies. Most of which are just small things like frames and other junk that I upcycle. Lately I've been picking up little pieces to refinish. So I thought I would share with you some of the things that I've found. I'd love to hear your thoughts about how I should refinish each project!

A wood table I picked up for $5.00 I really don't know what to do with this, but I like the retro look of it!

I got this cabinet for $20.00 at a garage sale. Again, not sure what to do... suggestions please!

An old chair for $5.00 - i might have overpaid. But I did like the look of it.

A shelf with hooks. Probably for the bathroom. My idea this far is to sand it, paint it white and add glaze to give it a beachy look. Your thoughts are welcomed!!!

And lastly, a vintage alarm clock. I love these. I've always wanted one. I think i'm going to start collecting these...

My finds are not nearly as great as my new friend Fran's at You've got to see some of her projects they are BEAUTIFUL! Please visit her blog, she has such great talent! Here is a little teaser of some of her things...

  1. Thanks for the sweet comment on my chalk paint chair Katie. I think it needs a little something like piping.
I love your garage sale finds. You found some really good looking things. Can't wait to see what you do!

  2. I think you scored on all of your finds! Can't wait to see what you do with them! Your newest follower Becky found you through eleven -o-one)

  3. Great finds! You've got great ideas too! I don't think you overpaid for the chair!

  4. Hi katie,
Thanks for the shout out on my bookcase. That was very nice of you. I love your YS finds! Especially the little cabinet with the glass front! An antique white like my book case and some glass knobs would be adorable especially if you paint the inside. Or skip the glass knobs in go beachy with wood. It looks like fun! I think your finds are great!

  5. Hi Katie.
    I love garagesale finds too!!!

So cool to find someone in the blogwourld who lives in the same town :) Maybe we already met on a garagesale??? :D

  6. Love all the finds. I think the cabinet would make a great bar or a buffet.
